Three Acts From Love
Feralpy Group Show
Curated by Jemila McEwan and Amelia Heitzelman
Flux Factory
Governors Island, New York
Photographer: Sunny Leerasanthanan
This immersive performance weaves together Indigenous Armenian healing practices, the teachings of George Ivanovich Gurdjieff, and Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Psychomagic. Audience members — individually or in small groups — are guided through a three-act ritual designed to uncover and release a spiritual block they wish to let go of.

Through meditation, tasseography, herbalism, music, storytelling, and movement, each act awakens a different sense, leading participants deeper into their own emotional landscapes. The journey begins at the Fort Jay Theatre and concludes in the open air at Picnic Point on Governors Island.

Every element of the experience — from the sculptural sets and handmade coffee cups to the costumes, playbill, and poster design — was created by the artist, weaving together their practices in sculpture, film, graphic design, and performance. The audience’s final gesture — smashing their coffee cups after receiving a personal reading — becomes a collective act of release, transformation, and renewal.

Three Acts From Love blurs the boundaries between art and ritual, inviting participants to experience healing as a shared creative act.

Presented as a one day only performance on Saturday August 5, 2023. Showtimes between 12pm - 4pm.
